Poke Chop has slipped a new counter onto Mission Gorge Road, quietly bumping the San Diego poke chain up to four local spots. The latest outpost pulls the brand’s build-your-own bowls and sushi-style burritos closer to Mission Valley and nearby neighborhoods, aiming to be an easy grab-and-go stop for lunch or takeout with its quick service and customizable toppings.
Poke Chop lists the Mission Gorge address as 6109 Mission Gorge Road, and the shopping-center owner has confirmed the restaurant’s opening at The Commons at Mission Valley in a release from Boardwalk Development. Phone numbers and posted hours are already up on the chain’s online listings as the new counter settles into regular service.
What’s on the menu
The Mission Gorge spot sticks to the chain’s build-your-own format, offering proteins like tuna in regular, seared and spicy versions, plus scallops, seared albacore and salmon. Diners can park those on salad, sushi rice or brown rice, or wrap everything up in a burrito-style roll.
Toppings run from crispy garlic and wonton chips to Hawaiian sea salt, and the menu also stretches beyond bowls with specialty plates such as chicken katsu, garlic shrimp, spam and eggs, beef curry and hamachi collar.
