Fourteen Mexican Nationals on a boat were seized by the U.S. Coast Guard on Friday 18 miles west of Pt. Loma, authorities said Sunday.
The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Forrest Rednour detected a vessel at about 4:30 p.m. Friday and launched their boarding team to investigate, USCG officials said.
The cutter’s boarding team intercepted 14 people aboard the 20-foot cuddy cabin and all of them claimed Mexican nationality, officials added.
The boarding team transferred custody of the 14 people to a boat crew from Coast Guard Station San Diego. They were then transported to Ballast Point and transferred to another U.S. Department of Homeland Security agency for investigation…
