SAN DIEGO (Border Report) — A police cruiser on patrol in the state of Oaxaca was approached by a truck carrying several gunmen who opened fire on the officers inside the vehicle Monday morning.
The driver of the squad car was killed and the other, said to be the chief of police in town, is now in a hospital fighting for his life.
The attack took place in a town called Pluma Hidalgo, located about 23 miles north of the Huatulco airport.
