San Diego County considers consumer protection unit as fraud victims seek help

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diegans who have fallen victim to fraud or scams say they want action and help tackling their cases.

Tonya Savice said she became a victim after someone stole her Social Security number and filed a fraudulent tax return in her name.

“I have to work with the IRS and the Social Security Administration to get that debt they say I owe that I don’t owe because it was fraud,” Savice said…
