SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A man was seriously injured after being stabbed multiple times during a funeral service at a church in San Diego’s Colina Del Sol neighborhood on Saturday, authorities said.

According to the San Diego Police Department, officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the 5300 block of Orange Avenue shortly after 4 p.m. The incident happened while a funeral service was taking place at New Vision Church.
When officers arrived, they found a man in his 40s suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was treated at the scene before being taken to a nearby hospital. Authorities said his injuries are considered serious but not life-threatening.

The suspect, described by police as a man in his late 20s, was detained at the scene and taken into custody without incident. His identity was not immediately provided.
