Man indicted for allegedly counterfeiting $6M in stamps, buys San Diego home

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 38-year-old man was indicted by a federal grand jury on Tuesday for allegedly selling millions of counterfeit U.S. postage stamps and using a portion of the proceeds to purchase a home in San Diego.

According to the Department of Justice, Wayne Fister, aka Wayne Wong, used his account in an online marketplace to sell counterfeit stamps and earned over $6 million in the scheme.

At one point, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service reportedly intercepted five packages intended for Fister. According to the DOJ, in total, the five packages contained more than $1 million in counterfeit stamps.
