SAN DIEGO — Assemblymember David Alvarez has introduced legislation designed to increase homeownership opportunities for California residents. Assembly Bill 2433 expands an existing incentive program that encourages developers to build more affordable housing units.
The proposal builds on the California Density Bonus Law by allowing developers to construct additional units on a property in exchange for including affordable homes in their projects for sale. The value of these incentives would vary based on property size.
