The San Diego City Attorney’s Office has filed a lawsuit against the owner of an Oak Park independent living facility, whose tenants have allegedly been exposed to unsafe and unsanitary conditions.
The lawsuit states the property at 3133 54th Street has been providing unlicensed residential care for several years, all while city inspections have turned up a laundry list of code violations.
The facility dubbed “Friends Helping Friends” has rented out rooms without proper permits or approvals, according to the City Attorney’s Office, which also claimed first responders and police have responded to the home hundreds of times over the past decade for drug overdoses, medical emergencies, and homicides…
