3.5 quake near U.S.-Mexico border felt in San Diego

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Did you feel the earthquake that struck near the U.S.-Mexico border Monday afternoon?

Residents from the border north to Escondido reported feeling weak to light shaking after a 3.5 magnitude earthquake struck at 2 p.m.

USGS reports the earthquake struck 14 km north of the Mexican city of Tecate, Baja California, and 37 km east of Chula Vista, at a depth of 24 km.
