SAN DIEGO — A man who assaulted a woman with a metal bat in Pacific Beach on Thursday afternoon is now in custody after fleeing the scene.
According to the San Diego Police Department, officers received a call at about 5:43 p.m. reporting an assault in the 4400 block of Fanuel Street.
