Results released from Chula Vista DUI checkpoint over weekend

CHULA VISTA (FOX 5/KUSI) — The Chula Vista Police Department (CVPD) released the results of a DUI checkpoint that was conducted on Saturday evening in Chula Vista.

According to CVPD, the checkpoint was conducted from 6 p.m. to midnight in central Chula Vista.

Here are the results of the checkpoint:

  • 1,816 vehicles traveled through the checkpoint
  • 384 vehicles were screened
  • Five drivers conducted field sobriety tests
  • One driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol
  • One driver was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs
  • One driver was arrested for an outstanding warrant
  • Five vehicles were impounded
  • 12 unlicensed or suspended license citations were issued
  • 16 total citations were issued
