Crews knock down Atkins Fire in Black Mountain Ranch neighborhood

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) —  Crews responded to a vegetation fire in the Black Mountain Ranch neighborhood on Sunday, according to Cal Fire.

Officials said crews received the call around 3:44 p.m. Crews from both Cal Fire and the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department (SDFD) responded with a full first-alarm response.

Small brush fires along Fallbrook highway caused by vehicle malfunction

Around 3:38 p.m., an Alert California camera showed smoke billowing near several homes in the area. SDFD said that no evacuation orders were in place.

A resident named Kian told our FOX 5/KUSI team at the scene that he and his family have lived in the neighborhood for about 14 years, and experienced another fire in 2014 that also spread near homes.
