National City golf course gets new lease on life

NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — ASouth Bay golf course will remain open for at least five more years after city leaders voted to extend its lease following strong community support.

Golfers, students and local residents packed a City Council meeting Tuesday night to urge officials to preserve the National City Municipal Golf Course, a nine-hole course that has operated since 1981. The course’s lease had been set to expire, raising concerns about its future.
