Wind Advisory issued for San Diego County’s deserts

BORREGO SPRINGS, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A Wind Advisory is set to go in effect for San Diego County’s deserts, as strong and potentially hazardous winds are expected to develop into the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory covers areas like Borrego Springs, east of Julian and east of Mount Laguna. It will be in effect from 2 p.m. Saturday through 11 a.m. Sunday.

Forecasters say west winds between 25 and 35 mph are expected, with gusts reaching up to 50 mph. In mountain passes, gusts could be even stronger, peaking near 65 mph.
