NATIONAL CITY (FOX 5/KUSI) — A commercial building in National City went up in flames early Thursday morning, sending plumes of black smoke into the sky.
The incident began around 4:45 a.m. in the area East 3rd Street and National City Boulevard, with fire units from National City, San Diego, Chula Vista, and Coronado responding to the scene.
Crews arrived to find heavy flames in the rear of the structure, with fire extending through the roof of the building. Firefighters began suppression efforts while conducting primary searchers of unaffected areas.
