Police pursuit ends in Carmel Mountain Ranch

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A police pursuit ended at the corner Highland Ranch Road and Ted Williams Parkway in Carmel Mountain Ranch on Wednesday afternoon, with police surrounding a suspect vehicle.

According to the San Diego Police Department, officers responded to calls about a stolen car that led to the pursuit. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office (SDSO) said they deployed spike strips but the driver of the alleged stolen vehicle avoided them and accelerated toward an officer.

The officer then fired shots through the windshield of the car. The driver, identified as a woman, was not injured and was taken into custody, authorities stated…
