SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — This Memorial Day weekend Tunnel to Towers will pay off 25 mortgages across 13 states.
They will be paying off two mortgages for Southern California “Gold Star Families,” honoring the memory of Air Force Senior Airman Austin Wampler and U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Juan Calderon.
Wampler lost his life to service-connected cancer in 2025, and Calderon was killed in Afghanistan in 2004. By paying off these mortgages, Tunnel to Towers has lifted a significant financial burden for the families these heroes left behind…
