(KRON) — Dramatic video released by the United States Coast Guard on Friday shows a Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco crew rescuing three people from a cave near Santa Cruz last weekend.
USCG said Coast Guard Sector San Francisco watchstanders were alerted by Cal Fire officials at 8:16 p.m. Sunday, requesting air assistance for multiple people in distress at Panther Beach.
“Sector watchstanders launched an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew from the air station to Panther Beach in an agency-assist capacity,” said officials in a news release. “The aircrew arrived on scene at 9:20 p.m. and discovered three people trapped on the beach experiencing symptoms of hypothermia.”
USCG said all three individuals were taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. Their current conditions were not disclosed…
