Richmond police arrested a murder suspect within hours of a fatal shooting Friday evening, crediting swift investigative work and a partnership with a neighboring police department.
Officers responded at approximately 6:27 p.m. to the 200 block of West Nevin Avenue after reports of gunshots and a person down.
“Upon arrival, officers located an adult victim suffering from gunshot wounds,” Lt. Donald Patchin, department spokesman, said. “Officers immediately rendered aid and initiated life-saving measures; however, despite their efforts, the victim succumbed to their injuries at the scene.”…
