PG&E warns of possible Bay Area power shutoffs as fire weather builds

Pacific Gas and Electric Co. warned Monday that it could shut off power to parts of eight Northern California counties this week as dry, gusty weather raises wildfire concerns.

The utility company’s seven-day forecast listed an elevated risk of public safety power shutoffs Wednesday through Friday in parts of Napa, Sonoma, Colusa, Glenn, Lake, Sutter, Tehama and Yolo counties. No shutoffs were forecast for Monday, Tuesday, Saturday or Sunday.
