Lucid Group plans to cut about 18% of its U.S. workforce, the Bay Area electric vehicle maker said Monday, marking its second round of layoffs this year.
The Newark company said in a federal filing that the cuts will affect full-time employees, contractors and hourly production workers in manufacturing. Lucid also said it is eliminating the second production shift at its factory in Casa Grande, Ariz.
Lucid said the restructuring was part of its effort to reach profitability and generate positive cash flow.

The company did not immediately disclose how many workers would lose their jobs or how many Bay Area employees would be affected. Lucid had about 9,000 employees globally at the end of 2025 before an earlier round of cuts this year…
