Coyote rescued after being stuck in SF yard for days

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A young coyote that had been trapped in a San Francisco backyard for days had “shut down” by the time animal control officers came to the rescue on Sunday, according to officials.

A resident away on vacation reported to San Francisco Animal Care and Control that she had seen a juvenile coyote through her backyard’s security cameras. After further review, the homeowner realized that the coyote had been there since Thursday.

“Her house was on a hill and she had extremely high walls,” SFACC wrote. “The coyote had been seen on camera pacing and trying to get out, but was unable to leave.”

Animal control officers Mullen and Clarke responded and gained access to the property through a relative of the homeowner. When the officers moved toward the coyote, it remained calm and didn’t move…
