(KRON) — A restaurant in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood held its final day of service last week. Park Tavern closed on June 21 after 15 years at Washington Square, the business said.
“We are incredibly grateful to our team, our guests, and this amazing community for making Park Tavern such a special place,” a message on Park Tavern’s website reads. “The memories, friendships, and moments shared here will stay with us forever. Thank you for joining us on our final day to celebrate North Beach and all the people who have made this neighborhood so special.”
Celebrity chef Jonathan Waxman is a partner and chef at Park Tavern. He owned the restaurant alongside James Nicholas III, a fifth-generation San Franciscan, according to Park Tavern’s website. The latter also owns SF restaurants Marlowe, The Cavalier and Leo’s Oyster Bar…
