Acclaimed craft brewery Ballast Point abruptly closes SF taproom

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — San Diego craft brewery Ballast Point has abruptly closed its San Francisco taproom. In a post on Instagram, the acclaimed brewery announced that the taproom had closed permanently as of Monday.

“We’re grateful to everyone who visited, shared a beer, celebrated milestones, and made this location part of the local craft beer community over the years,” the post read. “Thank you for your support and for the memories we’ve made together.”

The taproom opened to much anticipation back in February of 2023. Just a few blocks from Chase Center and a mile from Oracle Park, the taproom seemed ideally situated in SF’s thriving Mission Bay neighborhood.
