Bay Area biotech giant to lay off 103 employees

(KRON) — A Bay Area-based biotechnology giant is laying off more than 100 employees, according to a new Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) report released Thursday.

Genentech, based in South San Francisco, is set to permanently lay off 103 workers from its headquarters at 1 DNA Way. Professional scientific and technical services roles are affected by the cuts, the WARN report listed.
