A man was charged with attempted rape after he allegedly assaulted a woman in the elevator of her downtown Berkeley apartment building, police said.
Sean Johnson, 40, followed the woman into her building at around 3 p.m. Saturday, the Berkeley Police Department said in a statement. He allegedly cornered her in the elevator, where he exposed himself to the woman and began to grope her, authorities said.
