Police say Bay Area burglary suspect took selfies while stealing more than $100,000 in property

A Bay Area burglary investigation took an unusual turn after police said one of the suspects documented the crime with selfie photographs that investigators later used as evidence.

The investigation began after a business in the 1100 block of Green Island Road in American Canyon reported a burglary July 6 in which more than $100,000 worth of tools, copper wire and vehicles were stolen, according to the American Canyon Police Department.

Police identified two vehicles believed to have been used in the burglary and shared that information with neighboring law enforcement agencies, leading to arrests over the next two days…
