Much cooler weather is in store for California this week as a persistent high-pressure system finally gives way to its low-pressure counterpart. This transition will open the door for increased cloud cover and thunderstorm chances as monsoon moisture overspreads the state.
The cooldown will be sharp in the Bay Area on Monday.
High temperatures are expected to be 5 to 15 degrees lower than Sunday, with the most pronounced drop in Napa, Solano and Contra Costa counties. Even Sacramento will slide to the low to mid-90s as the delta breeze takes an edge off the heat…
