Oakland raid uncovers enough fentanyl to kill nearly 2 million people

(KRON) — More than 3.8 kilograms of fentanyl, along with processing and packaging equipment, was seized from an Oakland residence last week, authorities said. The amount represents enough potentially lethal doses to kill almost 2 million people, according to figures published by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

The seizure on Aug. 13 was part of an ongoing narcotics investigation, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office said Monday. Narcotics Task Force detectives had obtained two warrants for Oakland residences in the 2400 block of 13th Avenue and 2700 block of 78th Avenue.

At the home on 13th Avenue, five individuals were arrested and $15,000 in bundled cash was located, the sheriff’s office said…
