(KRON) — Below normal temperatures continue through the weekend, with a gradual warming and drying trend starting Monday. A Beach Hazards Statement is in effect through Monday for sneaker waves, strong rip currents, and breaking waves up to 10 feet along the coast. There is a chance that remnant tropical moisture could bring light rain Tuesday through Thursday.
Short Term: Cool air lingers Saturday morning after Thursday’s rain and Friday’s unusually cool air. Ocean temperatures have warmed a few degrees above normal along the coast, keeping overnight lows milder than usual near the water. Saturday’s highs will be similar to recent days, in the 60s and 70s near the coast and bays, and the upper 70s to lower 80s inland.
Long Term: Sunday looks similar with dry weather continuing and highs in the 60s and 70s near the coast and bays, and the upper 70s to lower 80s inland. A warming trend begins Labor Day, bringing highs back to normal or slightly above, into the 80s to lower 90s well inland.
