Man threw skateboard at elderly man in SF vandalism-assault: DA

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A 47-year-old man was convicted by a jury for a July 14 incident where he assaulted an elderly man and vandalized the lobby of the building where he lives, prosecutors announced Thursday.

Joshua Vasquez was convicted of vandalism and assault, according to San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins.

Based on trial evidence and testimony, DA Jenkins said “Vasquez approached the 79-year-old victim, a Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation staff member of the building where Mr. Vasquez lives and became irate when the victim informed Mr. Vasquez that he was not authorized to open Mr. Vasquez’s mailbox. During the confrontation, Mr. Vasquez damaged building property and threw a skateboard at the victim.”…
