One of San Francisco’s oldest and most popular dim sum restaurants — and one of the few to still offer cart service post-pandemic — is closing one of its two locations after 27 years.
Yank Sing, which was founded in 1958, will shutter its Rincon Center restaurant at 101 Spear St. on Sept. 20, co-owner Vera Chan Waller confirmed. Its smaller Stevenson Street location, open since 1974, will remain open.
“After many wonderful years at the Rincon Center, our lease has come to an end,” she wrote in an emailed statement. “Thank you for being part of our story at Rincon, we’re grateful for the many memories we’ve shared there and look forward to continuing our story together at Yank Sing Stevenson.” She did not elaborate further on the decision to close…
