(KRON) — Large-scale layoffs announced by Uber earlier this month are set to impact dozens of Bay Area employees. Back on Sept. 2, Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi announced that the company would be cutting 10% of its workforce — around 3,300 employees globally.

As part of the announcement, Khosrowshahi said Uber would be reining in remote workers and concentrating teams in the coastal hubs of New York City and San Francisco, where the company is headquartered. Now, however, it seems the layoffs are hitting the Bay Area.
According to a state filing, the rideshare service will be cutting 137 jobs across two locations on Mathilda Place in Sunnyvale. The layoffs are set to take effect on Nov. 2.
All the layoffs are permanent, according to the filing. It is not clear how many, if any, of the expected 3,300 global layoffs will impact the Bay Area…
