Unplanned PG&E power outage impacts thousands in SF Thursday

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — More than 3,180 PG&E customers in San Francisco were impacted by a large, unplanned power outage in parts of the city’s Tenderloin, Lower Nob Hill, and Western Addition neighborhoods, according to the SF Department of Emergency Management.

SF Emergency posted the update just after 3:30 p.m. in a social media post. At around 4:30 p.m., about 2,580 PG&E customers were without power. That number dipped to about 312 customers just before 7 p.m.

Customers are encouraged to visit PG&E’s Outage Center or call 1-800-743-5002 for real-time updates, outage maps, and estimated restoration times.

This outage comes one day after a similar outage took out power along the SF Embarcadero for several hours Wednesday…
