Three Vallejo men were convicted of felony and misdemeanor theft charges after San Francisco prosecutors accused them of working together to pickpocket people in Chinatown.
Stefan Ruset, 35, Marian Constantine, 30, and Florin Matei, 26, worked together to steal thousands of dollars from the wallets and purses of unsuspecting passersby in Chinatown since April, according to a statement from the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.
“I would like to thank the jury for their service in this trial,” San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins said. “The days of people coming to San Francisco to target our residents and visitors with impunity ended long ago. My office remains committed to holding those accountable who commit crime in our city.”…
