The Daly City Police Department is currently investigating a series of thefts targeting Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) trucks parked inside a utility company corporation yard located on the 400 block of Eastmoor Avenue.
The incidents, which occurred between the late hours of January 15th and the early hours of January 16th, have left the community on edge and raised concerns about the security of utility vehicles in the area.
According to police reports, four separate PG&E trucks were targeted in the recent spate of thefts. In the first incident, miscellaneous tools were reported missing from a 2016 Peterbilt truck, with the driver’s side panels found open. This theft occurred between 3:00 p.m. on January 15th and 6:30 a.m. on January 16th.
Shortly thereafter, three additional thefts were reported on the same block. A 2013 Peterbilt truck had miscellaneous tools and equipment taken, with the roll-up compartments on both sides of the truck found open.
This incident occurred on January 16th between midnight and 6:30 a.m. Similarly, a 2014 Peterbilt truck had tools and equipment stolen, with cargo doors found open and locks to roll-up doors tampered with during the same timeframe.
