Wild 300-vehicle sideshow in California city results in arrests, citations and towed cars

In the early hours of January 27, 2024, the Vallejo Police Department responded to multiple calls reporting a sideshow at the intersection of Hichborn St. and Wilson Ave. The sideshow, involving an estimated 300 vehicles, caused significant traffic disruptions in the area.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers witnessed a gray Toyota Camry and a white Lexus IS300 actively participating in the sideshow. Quick and decisive action was taken as officers initiated traffic stops on both vehicles. Subsequently, all occupants of the Toyota and Lexus were arrested, cited, and released for violation of VMC 8.74.040, specifically, spectating sideshow activities, police said. The two vehicles were towed from the scene due to the listed violation.

The following night, on January 28, 2024, at approximately 1:37 A.M., officers once again encountered sideshow activity. This time, a gray Chevrolet Corvette was observed spinning donuts at N. Camino Alto and Sereno Dr. A prompt traffic stop was conducted, resulting in the citation and release of the Corvette’s driver. Additionally, the vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
