Four arrested in connection with California home burglary ring targeting victims throughout state

In a joint effort, San Jose Police Department (SJPD) Robbery Unit Detectives and Fremont Police Department Special Operations Detectives successfully apprehended four suspects linked to a series of home invasions and residential burglaries in the Bay Area.

The suspects, identified as Dejaun Mabon (35), Maurice Barrow (38), Shawn Wyatt (35), and Lawrence Barton (37), were taken into custody on January 23, 2024, in Union City during an ongoing residential burglary. The investigation revealed their association with several burglaries in Bay Area cities, including San Bruno, Fremont, Milpitas, and Union City.

During the criminal activities, the suspects targeted homes, making off with items such as jewelry, high-end watches, purses, significant amounts of cash, and even firearms, police said. Notably, the group used a WiFi Jammer device to disrupt home security camera signals, complicating investigative efforts, police added.

The SJPD Robbery Unit collaborated with multiple agencies, leading to the identification of the suspects. Fremont Police Detectives, supported by the San José Police Department’s Air Support Unit, successfully arrested the suspects during the act, police said.
