SAN FRANCISCO ( KRON ) — An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.4 struck Friday about five miles west of Daly City, according to the United States Geological Survey, which means it likely occurred two to three miles off the coast.
USGS later reported on Friday afternoon that it was a 3.2 earthquake.
KRON4 Meteorologist John Shrable was in Daly City when the quake struck at 1:32 p.m. and called it a “big jolt!”

There are no reports of damage in San Francisco at this time, the San Francisco Fire Department said on X . The National Weather Service confirmed to SFFD that there are no expected coastal surge issues.
The South San Francisco Fire Department also said there have been no reports of damage. A viewer told KRON4 that the earthquake was felt from their home in Novato.
A minor 1.7-magnitude aftershock occurred 5 minutes after the quake, according to officials.
There are no other preliminary reports of injuries or damages in connection with the quake.
