Nearly 160 passengers aboard a luxury cruise ship that departed from San Francisco mysteriously fell ill following a gastrointestinal outbreak that led to vomiting, diarrhea and other bothersome symptoms .
The Center for Disease Control launched an investigation following the incident but failed to find a cause. The agency said that 129 passengers and 25 crew members had been reported experiencing symptoms abroad the Queen Victoria, a cruise ship from the Cunard Line.
The illnesses occured between January 22 and February 6, the CDC said. It is not clear how many people are still sick.

The Queen Victoria sailed from Fort Lauderdale, Florida on January 22 and departed California for Hawaii on February 6. It’s due to dock in Honolulu on February 12.
Cunard reported that it had increased cleaning and disinfection procedures following the outbreak and isolated the ill passengers and crew. Current and embarking passengers and crew are being made aware of the situation onboard.
