Jauan Jennings shouts out Tennessee and Josh Dobbs after loss in Super Bowl LVIII

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings, a former Tennessee Vols standout, didn’t leave Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday night as a Super Bowl champion, but he still provided a moment that football fans will remember forever.

In the first half, Jennings threw a touchdown pass to running back Christian McCaffrey. Later in the game, Jennings caught a touchdown pass, becoming just the second player in the NFL history to throw a touchdown pass and catch a touchdown in the same Super Bowl (former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles was the first to do it).

In 2015 at Tennessee, Jennings threw a touchdown to quarterback Josh Dobbs on essentially the same play.

After the game, Jennings was asked about his touchdown pass. And he shouted out Tennessee and Josh Dobbs during his answer.

“It felt awesome,” said Jennings . “It felt like I was back at the University of Tennessee throwing to Josh Dobbs. To make that play, I just think about my quarterbacks coach from high school, I know he’s so proud right now. Man, I thought we were going to win it.”
