SAN FRANCISCO — Flight attendants and passengers stepped in to break up a mid-flight fight on a plane that took off from California, on Monday.
Southwest Airlines says two customers became disruptive on board a flight from Oakland to Kauai, Hawaii.
It’s unclear how their disagreement started.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a passenger disturbance in which a fight allegedly broke out on a Southwest Airlines flight from the Bay Area to Hawaii.
Flight SWA 128 took off on time from Oakland on Monday and was headed to Lihue in Kauai around 10 a.m., according to FlightAware. However, two passengers “became disruptive” on the flight, a spokesperson for Southwest Airlines told SFGATE over email.
“I heard yelling, screaming and punches. I turned around and saw one man bleeding and then the other man being separated,” Southwest passenger Jim Wieder told Hawaii News Now. A video of the fight has since circulated on social media; passengers and crew members can be seen trying to break up the fight.
