One dead in Pinole shooting, armed suspect at-large

( KRON ) — One person was killed in a shooting in Pinole on Friday morning, the Pinole Police Department said. The suspect fled the scene and is believed to be armed.

Police identified the suspect as Jeffrey Kendall, 36. Kendall was seen on video leaving the crime scene in a gray Hyundai Elantra. View images of Kendall and his suspected car below.

The shooting happened at a house on the 500 block of Summit Drive at about 8:45 a.m. Police received a report of someone breaking into a home and attacking a female. Officers from the Pinole and Hercules police departments responded and found a female dead with a gunshot wound. Nobody else was in the home.

Kendall is described as a white man who stands 5-foot-9 and 140 pounds with brown hair. He was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket, dark pants and a baseball cap.

The car is a gray 2013 Hyundai Elantra with California license plate 8BLM036 with an “Oxmoor Hyundai” on the right side of the trunk lid.
