$100 dispute led to 16 stabbings in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO ( KRON ) — San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced Friday that her office secured a conviction of a man who brutally beat and stabbed a victim 16 times in an altercation over $100.

Sean Ferguson, 55, was found following the victim into a restaurant parking lot near Yerba Buena Gardens on February 19 at 6 am. Ferguson then stabbed the victim 16 times in the back and torso, as well as choked and kicked the victim — all within the span of 15 minutes, Jenkins said.

Ferguson is currently in custody. He faces up to 30 years in state prison for attempted murder, attempted second-degree robbery and mayhem. Sentencing will be scheduled at a future hearing in April.

Prosecutors were able to develop a case against Ferguson through an investigation by the San Francisco Police Department’s Night Investigations Unit. “I would like to thank the jury for their service and ensuring that Mr. Ferguson faces consequences for his senseless crimes,” said Jenkins.
