Suspect arrested in Nebraska in connection to fatal Richmond shooting Sunday night

( KRON ) — A man was arrested in connection to a shooting that happened Sunday night in Richmond , the Richmond Police Department (RPD) announced on Thursday. The shooting, which happened around 11:30 p.m. on the 3400 block of Richmond Parkway, left one victim dead and another at the hospital where they are expected to survive their injuries.

Arcenio Fernandez Marquez, 30, of Richmond was arrested Tuesday in Nebraska. The slain victim was identified as Elizander Narvaez Fernandez, according to RPD.

Brentwood police search for stabbing suspect

The suspect was arrested near Ogallala where a license plate reader alerted that his vehicle was in the area. Authorities then “quickly” took him into custody where he remains at this time until he is brought back to California, RPD said.

An investigation revealed that the victim(s) and suspect knew each other, police said. The shooting happened after a fight erupted at a party. Marquez allegedly fired at two victims before fleeing the scene.
