C-Mac: If Daniel Jones can’t play well against Commanders, it will never happen

As the Giants prepare to take on the Commanders in Washington on Sunday, Chris McMonigle says the importance of Week 2 for Daniel Jones cannot be overstated.

After a miserable Week 1 performance by Jones, throwing two bad interceptions and posting a quarterback rating of 44.3, C-Mac says that if the Giants quarterback can’t be efficient against a porous Commanders defense that he has owned for much of his career, then it will never happen for Jones.

“This game is gonna be huge…I will be convinced the season is over if the Giants lose this game,” C-Mac said.

“This is the one team that Daniel Jones plays well against…Daniel Jones has traditionally played well against this Washington team that has been one of the worst defenses in the league.”

Jones is still early in his return from ACL surgery, but C-Mac says the Giants need to see Jones at his usual best against Washington, or else it is fair to wonder if it’s time to move on to a different option as the starter, and fair to believe that the season is already no longer about making the playoffs.
