WALNUT CREEK, CA — A new Italian dining experience has arrived in downtown Walnut Creek with the opening of Gusto Mio, a focacceria specializing in traditional pizza al taglio and freshly baked focaccia.
Located at 1411 Locust Street, just down the block from the Lesher Center for the Arts, Gusto Mio promises to bring the flavors of Italy to East Bay residents.
Founded by Angelo Sannino and Antonio Merolla, seasoned restaurateurs behind the Doppio Zero restaurant chain, Gusto Mio emphasizes quality and authenticity. The restaurant uses ingredients imported directly from Italy, including rich cheeses, premium cured meats, and authentic olive oil.
Sannino, a well-known figure in the Bay Area’s Italian dining scene, brings his extensive culinary expertise to Gusto Mio, while Merolla contributes his strong background in restaurant management. Together, they aim to provide a genuine Italian experience, emphasizing traditional recipes and artisanal techniques passed down through generations.
The menu features a range of artisanal pizzas and other Italian delicacies, and Gusto Mio plans to host special events and promotions to celebrate its grand opening.
