Bay Area serial killer convicted of murdering two women in Fremont in 1986

( KRON ) — An already-convicted murderer has been found guilty of killing two more women in Fremont in 1986, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office announced. David Misch, 63, was found guilty of killing Michelle Xavier, 18, and Jennifer Duey, 20.

The bodies of both young women were found naked in a remote area of Fremont on Feb. 2, 1986.

Evidence at trial showed that Misch’s DNA was found under Duey’s nails. To explain the DNA, Misch said in 2003 that he saw the young women being kidnapped at gunpoint and tried to save them.

A partial license plate associated with Misch was written on one of the victims’ hands. This was also used as evidence.

“This conviction is a testament to this office’s commitment to seeking justice for victims and their families, even if it takes decades. I only wish we could have delivered justice sooner for these two families,” said Chief Assistant District Attorney Royl Roberts.

A motorcyclist found Duey and Xavier’s bodies along the side of Mill Creek Road, a little more than a mile east of Mission Boulevard. Police said they had been shot and stabbed hours before they were found.
