It’s starting to become the norm for San Francisco’s Jackson Square neighborhood: Another modest, century-old commercial building sells for an enormous price to a mysterious buyer.
Last week the building at 530 Jackson St., previously the home to Kell’s Irish Restaurant and Pub for a quarter of a century, sold for roughly $32.4 million, or just under $2,100 per square foot.
That pricing for the 15,000 square foot property is well above market-rate for commercial spaces in vacancy-plagued downtown San Francisco, and is high even for Jackson Square , a ritzy 14-acre neighborhood on the fringes of the North Financial District that in recent years has been the recipient of a number of office tenants fleeing from downtown…
