SAN BRUNO, CA (Thechieftainspear) – JCPenney has confirmed the closure of eight additional stores across the U.S. in 2025, marking another round of downsizing for the long-standing retailer. Among the affected locations is its store at The Shops at Tanforan in San Bruno, California.
The decision comes as part of JCPenney’s continued efforts to streamline operations following financial struggles in recent years. Since filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May 2020, the company has closed around 200 stores. The latest closures will also affect locations in Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Maryland, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and West Virginia.
